LEE COUNTY <br /> Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF A VACANT LOT LOCATED <br /> AT 304 OAKWOOD AVENUE IN THE CITY OF SANFORD <br /> TO OUTREACH MISSION, INC. <br /> WHEREAS, Lee County acquired title to a vacant lot located at 304 Oakwood Avenue, in <br /> the City of Sanford by Deed recorded in Book 1335 Page 826 in the Office of the Register of <br /> Deeds for Lee County with the property bearing the PIN Number of 9642-98-3679-00; and more <br /> particularly described as follows: <br /> All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situate in the City of <br /> Sanford, East Sanford, Lee County, North Carolina and more particularly described as follows: <br /> BEGINNING at an iron pipe located in the southeast intersection of the right of way of Oakwood <br /> Avenue and Third Street and running thence as the eastern right of way of Third Street S. 11 <br /> deg. 49' 10" E. 114.50 feet to an iron pipe;thence S. 88 deg. 25' 43" E. 87.59 feet to an iron pip; <br /> thence S. 11 deg. 50' 49" E. 12.91 feet to an iron pipe;thence N. 79 deg. 12' 27" E. 75.78 feet to <br /> an iron pipe;thence N. 11 deg. 49' 10" W. 148.96 feet to an iron pipe in the southern right of <br /> way line of Oakwood Avenue;thence as the southern right of way line of Oakwood Avenue, S. <br /> 78 deg. 12' 52" W. 160.00 feet to the point of beginning. Subject to restrictive covenants and <br /> easements of record. <br /> WHEREAS,The City of Sanford, at its January 15, 2019 Regular Council Meeting,voted to <br /> convey its interest in 304 Oakwood Avenue to Lee County with the intent that the lot be <br /> received by the non profit, Outreach Mission, Inc. to address homelessness, by Deed recorded <br /> in Book 1518 Page 800 in the Office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County,and; <br /> WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners of Lee County desires to dispose of the lot as <br /> being surplus to the County's needs, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the County has the authority pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes <br /> 153A-176 to dispose of real property belonging to the County according to the procedures <br /> prescribed in North Carolina General Statutes, Chapter 160A, Article 12 and has the specific <br /> authority pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 160A-279 to convey by private sale real <br /> property to a public or private entity which carries out a public purpose, and; <br />
