0 <br />-600K V P:GE 549 <br />The Board next considered the request from the Region"M" <br />Council of Governments asking support for the Certified Development <br />Company to be organized by the Region "M" Council of Governments. <br />The matter was discussed following which Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. moved the adoption of the following Resolution: <br />WHEREAS, a large part of future domestic economic <br />development will probably occur in the small business sector of the <br />U. S.economy; and <br />WHEREAS, every effort should be made locally to take <br />advantage of tools available to develop the small business sector; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, THE Region "M" Council of Governments plans to <br />organize a certified development company within its organizational <br />structure. <br />NOW, BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED THAT, The Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners does wish to consort with other counties expressing a <br />desire to be a part of the certified development company to be <br />organized by the Region "M" Council of Governments. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />adopted. Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously <br />County Manager Mills presented the Board the bid tabulation <br />sheet for the purchase of a 24 x 60 modular office for use by the <br />Sheriff's Department: <br />BIDDER <br />American Structures Co. <br />Raleigh, N. C. <br />PRICE <br />$33,150 plus sales tax <br />J. C. Edwards, Inc. <br />Raleigh, N. C. <br />Rogers Mobile Offices <br />Kinston, N. C. <br />$41,857 plus sales tax <br />$30,650 plus sales tax <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. moved that. the low bid of <br />Rogers Mobile Offices in the amount of $30,650 plus sales tax be <br />accepted. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion, and <br />
