Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the County Manager be <br />authorized to advertise for bids for the computer system. Commissioner Gordon <br />A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />MAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution unanimously adopted and the County <br />Manager authorized to advertise for bids for a computer system. <br />Mr. J. D. Foust, Secretary of the Local Government Commission and Mr. <br />Robert High, member of the Local Government Commission staff, appeared before <br />the Board and spoke on the relationship between Counties and the Local <br />Government Commission with emphasis upon the fund balance of 8% recommended by <br />the Local Government Commission. <br />Mr. Robert Nelson of the firm of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells, appeared <br />before the Board and made a formal presentation of the audit report for the <br />fiscal year ending June 30, 1988. Mr. Nelson reviewed pertinent documents in <br />the audit and advised the Board after they had a chance to review the material <br />that he would be happy to answer any questions they might have. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved the adoption of the following <br />Resolution with respect to the retirement of Betty Suddarth from the Lee County <br />Library System: <br />WHEREAS, Betty Suddarth was employed by the Lee County Library System <br />on January 2, 1968; and <br />WHEREAS, since that time she has ably served the citizens of Lee <br />County through the Library System, and her grace and charm has endeared her to <br />the staff and patrons of the Lee County Library; and <br />WHEREAS, her dedication and conscientious commitment to providing <br />good service to the public through the Library System was demonstrated by a <br />near perfect attendance record since her employment; and, <br />WHEREAS, due to recent health consideration, Betty Suddarth is <br />retiring from employment with the Lee County Library System; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners expresses its appreciation to Betty Suddarth for her <br />enthusiastic, loyal, and dedicated service to Lee County through the Library <br />System and wishes her Godspeed in the future. <br />
