BOOK 12 ?AGE 558 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA MONDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 1988 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, November 21, 1988, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. Those present were Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr.; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; John E. Dotterer; Bertha L. Matthews; and Gordon A. Wicker. The'Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by Elwin Buchanan, Grants Administrator. The draft of the minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, November 7, 1988, was considered. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. moved that the draft be adopted as the official minutes for the meeting. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion. Upon a vote the results were as follows: AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer NAY: None The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted and ordered the minutes recorded. Mr. W. M. Womble, Chairman of the Sanford Lee-County Airport Commission, appeared before the Board and requested that the Board make available funds for the construction of hangars at the airport. Mr. Womble presented letters from the attorney for Walter V. Wicker, senior partner in Physicians World Communications Group, requesting hangar space, and also a letter from Mr. Morris L. Tate likewise requesting hangar space for their aircraft. Mr. Womble reported that the City of Sanford had taken action to appropriate $67,000 for this project, and he was requesting the County to appropriate the same amount. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the sum of $67,000 be appropriated for the purpose of building hangars at the Sanford Lee County Airport. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. seconded the motion.
