Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the Board <br />authorize and pay Mr. Jim Mills ninety (90) days' severance pay. No <br />second was made and after waiting a reasonable time, the Chairman <br />ruled the motion died for lack of a second. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that Mrs. <br />Beatrice Fields, the Finance Officer and Interim County Manager, be <br />paid Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00) per month in addition to <br />her present regular monthly salary as Finance Officer as compensation <br />for her services as Interim County Manager. Commissioner Bertha L. <br />Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as <br />follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr., moved that all of <br />the employees of the newly created Lee County Health Department who <br />formerly were employed by the District Health Department which served <br />Lee County be given the same longevity and pay grade that they <br />received when they were last employed by the District Health <br />Department. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: Dossenbach <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been adopted by a <br />majority vote. <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr., moved that a hold be <br />placed on efforts to hire a new Grants Administrator, and to talk <br />with other units of local government about how they administer their <br />programs. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />
