S ~ a <br />GOOK V FiGF 578 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />V MONDAY, DECEMBER 19, 1988 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee convened in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County <br />Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina,at 7:00 o'clock <br />P.M. on Monday, December 19, 1988. Present were: Commissioners John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr., Albert L. Cox, Bertha L. Matthews, William C. Stafford, Jr. <br />and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum was present and the <br />meeting open for the dispatch of business. Chairman Albert L. Cox presided and <br />the following business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by County Attorney K. R. Hoyle. <br />The draft of the minutes of the meeting held on Monday, December 5, <br />1988, was considered. The Clerk advised the Board that the Planning Department <br />had submitted a draft of the resolution authorizing the paving adjacent to the <br />West Sanford Fire Department station and asked that the draft of the minutes be <br />amended to substitute the Planning Department's draft instead of the one <br />included in the original draft. The Board authorized the amendment and that <br />with the amendment the Chairman declared the minutes approved as amended and <br />directed that they be recorded. <br />The Chairman then announced committee and board appointments for the <br />Commissioners which were as follows: <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker is to serve on the Health Board, the <br />Senior Citizens Board and the Youth Commission; <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. is to serve on the Board of <br />Directors of the Industrial Development Corporation, the Mental Health Board <br />and Hazardous Waste Board; ✓ <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. is to serve on the Downtown <br />Business Association, Airport Commission, Ambulance Advisory Board and Parks <br />and Recreation Commission; <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews is to serve on the Community <br />Development Council," Social Services Board, and as Alternate Delegate to the <br />Triangle J Council of Governments; <br />Chairman Cox will serve on the Board of Directors of the Industrial <br />Development Corporation and as the Delegate to the Triangle J Council of <br />
