0 0 <br />6ou V FoE 58'7 <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />J <br />THURSDAY, DECEMBER 29, 1988 <br />The special meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee held pursuant to a call issued by the Chairman, convened in the <br />Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 <br />Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, at 8:00 o'clock A. M., on Thursday, <br />December 29, 1988, the same being the time, date and place speci-fied in the <br />call. Those present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, John R. Dossenbach, <br />Jr., Bertha L. Matthews, William C. Stafford, Jr. and Gordon A. Wicker. The <br />Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction <br />of business. <br />Chairman Albert L. Cox presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. moved that the January <br />meetings be changed so that rather than meeting on January 2nd at 9:30 A. M., <br />the Commission would hold a meeting on January 9th at 9:30 A. M. and rather <br />than meeting on January 17th, that the Board meet on Monday, January 23rd at <br />7:00 P. M. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />The Board discussed the water project of the Golden Poultry <br />industrial site and requested the County Manager to have representatives of <br />Floyd Browne to meet with the Board at the earliest date she could arrange. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach moved that the County Manager <br />request all rural fire departments who have contracts with the County to <br />provide services and are compensated from tax funds to post notices of their <br />budget sessions and to run an ad in a paper in general circulation in Lee <br />County and to post a notice of the meetings at the fire department <br />headquarters. Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. seconded the motion and <br />
