BOOK V PAGE 569 MINUTES OF THE BOARD M THE REGULAR MEETING OF OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA IJ MONDAY, JANUARY 9, 1989 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee convened in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, January 9, 1989. Present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., Bertha L. Matthews, William C. Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum was present and the meeting open for the dispatch of business. Chairman Albert L. Cox presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by Commissioner William C. Stafford. The draft of the minutes of the meeting held on Thurs- day, December 29, 1988, was considered. Chairman Cox asked that the minutes be amended to delete the word "apparently" from page 2, paragraph 3. Commissioner Wicker moved that the amended draft be adopted as the official minutes for said meeting. Commissioner Stafford seconded the motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox NAY: None The Chairman ruled that the resolution had been unani- mously adopted. Chairman Cox reviewed various items pending from the last meeting and checked on the current status of each. County Manager Beatrice Fields was asked if she had contacted the rural fire departments with respect to their required budget hearing notices and audit reports and she affirmed that this had been done.
