E& M aocp; 12 ?!Gf 614 jail were brought up for consideration and the Board authorized Chairman Cox and Commissioner Wicker to talk with the architects about air-conditioning at the present jail. The Board discussed the cablevision franchises and it was suggested that the present operators be requested to run their programs in the local paper. The Board reviewed a letter received from Mr. Archie Dalrymple. It was the opinion of the Board that certain electrical connections with disconnects would have to be installed in the retail space in the County Office Building before it could be occupied by tenants. It is proposed that in leasing the space the tenant would put in the wiring to the rented space. The Board noted that they had received a memorandum from Mrs. Norma Bullard, County Tax Supervisor, about the 1988 personal property listings for Trion. The matter was reviewed and no formal action was taken. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker reported to the Board that he had received a report that showed that Floyd Browne and Associates had secured all necessary approvals from State agencies to construct the water plant in connection with the Golden Poultry project. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. brought to the Board's attention that County Manager Fields, in order to perform her duties as County Manager, had lost some vacation time and he was prepared to make a motion that she be restored with lost time. The Chairman requested that he withhold his motion until the Board had selected a new County Manager, in order that they might consider the matter when her services as County Manager were terminated. With respect to the City of Sanford having collected a building permit for the construction of the Pioneer Yarn plant in Lee County, County Manager Fields reported that she had not received any transfer from the City of Sanford. The Board requested that she have the activities documented in writing but took no further action. The Chairman read to the Board a letter from Mr. Donn Gunderson, Director of the Department of Social Services to Mrs. Alice Hairston concerning the distribution program which she conducts. No formal action was taken. Chairman Cox reported that he had received requests that the vacancies on the Johnston-Lee Community Action Board be filled. After discussion among the Board about these vacancies, Chairman Cox requested Commissioner Stafford to name one person to serve and Commissioner Matthews to name the other person to serve on this Board.
