Boon 12 ?!GF 609 <br />Ccmmissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved the the Board proceed to acquire <br />by lease purchase the Infocel 4150 computer system. Commissioner William <br />C. Stafford, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as <br />follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />The Board observed a short recess following which they reconvened <br />with all members in attendance. <br />Chairman Cox recognized Mrs. Alice Hairston. He advised Mrs. <br />Hairston that the Board did not have a solution to her problem at the <br />present time but hoped to have by the next meeting. Commissioner Gordon A. <br />Wicker reported that Mrs. Hairston's group did have a charter and were <br />adding other commodities to their program. Chairman Cox appointed <br />Commissioners Bertha L. Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker to serve as a <br />committee to make a recommendation to the full Board concerning this <br />group's request for a site <br />Chairman Cox asked the Board for their decision as to the <br />selection of an architect with respect to the courthouse and jail project. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the Board employ the firm <br />of Stuart-Fitchett, Architects, of Southern Pines. Commissioner Gordon A. <br />Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the Resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />Chairman Cox advised the Board that he and Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker <br />would serve as a committee to work with the architects on these projects. <br />Chairman Cox asked the Board to consider acting on the resolution <br />on the Job Training Partnership Act, Title 3 submitted by Region M. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved the adopion of the following <br />Resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Counties of Chatham, Lee and Sampson have been <br />designated by the Governor of North Carolina for the purposes of administ <br />ering and distributing funds and services under the Job Training <br />Partnership Act of 1982, PL 97-300 (hereafter called the JTPA); and <br />WHEREAS, the Mid-Carolina Private Industry Council from Chatham, <br />Lee, and Sampson counties have discussed the issue of potential Substate <br />Delivery Area designation by Governor James Martin in March 1989 and wish <br />
