a <br />book, V P:cf 622 <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had failed by a majority vote. <br />The Board next considered the proposed meeting with City <br />officials pertaining to the purchase of water but no formal action was <br />taken. <br />The Chairman brought up for discussion the exchange of the <br />Reeves and Perkins property for the Linden Avenue school property. The <br />matter was discussed following which Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved <br />that the County proceed to purchase the Reeves and Perkins property <br />across from Lee Senior High School and exchange that property with the <br />Lee County Board of Education for the Linden Avenue school property, and <br />that the Chairman be authorized to negotiate for the purchase of said <br />property. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />adopted. <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously <br />It was brought to the Board's attention that Mr. Bill Horner, <br />III of the Sanford Herald had offered to help the Lee County <br />Environmental Affairs Board with the program of recycling of waste <br />material. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the Board go on <br />record as encouraging recycling as a part of our waste management <br />program. Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />adopted. <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously <br />The Board reviewed its interview schedule for applicants for <br />the position of County manager and decided to set one meeting for <br />Thursday, February 9, 1989, at 4:00 P. M. <br />It was reported to the Board that Congressman Martin <br />Lancaster, on February 15, 1989, would be holding meetings to meet with <br />his constituents. <br />Commissioner John R.
