BOOK i2 ?eGf 630 <br />desire to make an appointment at this time. <br />The Board observed a short recess at this time. <br />The Board next took up the draft of the agreement furnished by the <br />City designed to cover the furnishing of water to the Golden Poultry project. <br />The Board reviewed the agreement paragraph by paragraph. Suggestions were made <br />as to alternatives set forth in the agreement and following the review the <br />Board entered into a discussion as to whether or not Chairman Cox and <br />Commissioner Stafford favored discussion at this time of merging the County <br />water system with the City system. Commissioners Dossenbach, Matthews and <br />Wicker did not favor merging the system at this time and wanted the priorities <br />to be placed on getting Golden Poultry supplied with water at the present. <br />Chairman Cox read to the Board a Resolution which had been adopted by <br />the Lee County Bar Association, which Resolution was as follows: <br />BE IT RESOLVED that a comprehensive plan be adopted by the County <br />Commissioners to alleviate the current inadequacies in both the Lee County <br />Courthouse and the Lee County Jailhouse to the extent economically feasible, <br />and the Commissioners are encouraged to utilize the present geographic area <br />which houses these facilities. <br />Chairman Cox reported to the Board that he would be meeting with <br />representatives of O'Brien Adkins concerning the status of the contracts for <br />the renovation of the hospital building on Thursday, February 9,1989, at 10:00 <br />A. M. <br />Chairman Cox reported that he had been in conversation with Mr. <br />George Perkins concerning the exchange of the property across from the High <br />School with the Lee County Board of Education for the Linden Avenue school <br />property, but that the matter still had not been completed. <br />The Board observed a recess for luncheon at the Lee County <br />Agricultural Building.
