Boos V peoE 659 <br />1. That Lee County bring the building up to standard to <br />comply with Section 105.12 of the N. C. State Building Code as reported <br />by Mr. Archie L. Dalrymple, Building Inspector for the City of Sanford <br />in his letter of August 17, 1988. <br />2. The County lease the building to Crisis Support, Inc. for <br />$1.00 per year. <br />3. That Crisis Support, Inc. be responsible for all utility <br />bills. <br />4. That Crisis Support, Inc. assure the County of their <br />intentions and ability to operate their program for a reasonable period <br />of time before the County spends any funds to bring the building up to <br />code specification. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the <br />Board adopt the Committee's report as its policy for the use of the <br />building located at 807 Tryon Street. Commissioner William C. Stafford, <br />Jr., seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker reported that Dr. William <br />Settle and Director, Heins of the Health Department have been appointed <br />a committee to work with the Humane Society to resolve the dispute <br />between those organizations. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. brought up for <br />discussion the use of a portion of the Cultural Arts Center building as <br />a church by a local organization. It appears this use was authorized on <br />a temporary basis but h as continued over a long period of time. The <br />Chairman stated he would have the matter looked into and brought back <br />before the Board for action. <br />Chairman Cox reminded the Board that they had been invited to <br />attend a program on low level radioactive waste management to be held at <br />the Temple Theatre on February 21, 1989. <br />The Chairman requested the members of the Commission to <br />advise the County Manager of their intentions as to whether or not they <br />would attend the North Carolina meeting of the Association of County <br />Commissioners. <br />The Chairman reported on the 911 telephone service and <br />advised that the present steering committee for this project is composed <br />- 7 - <br />
