L <br />BOOK V PAGE 671 <br />U <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />of <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />for <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />THURSDAY, MARCH 9, 1989 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' <br />Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker <br />Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Thursday, March 9, 1989, at 7:00 <br />o'clock P. M. Those present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr., Bertha L. Matthews, William C. Stafford, Jr. and Gordon <br />A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open <br />for the transaction of business. Chairman Albert L. Cox presided and <br />the following business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Chairman Albert L. Cox. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, February <br />20, 1989, the draft of the minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held <br />on Tuesday, February 21, 1989, the draft of the minutes of the special <br />meeting held on Friday, February 24, 1989, and the draft of the minutes <br />of the adjourned special meeting held on March 2, 1989, were reviewed <br />and considered. Amendments and corrections were made, following which <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the drafts as amended be <br />adopted as the official minutes for said meetings. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted and <br />ordered the minutes be recorded. <br />Chairman Cox recognized Mrs. Pam Adams, Director of the <br />Department of Aging to present a request on behalf of the Department of <br />Aging. Mrs. Adams requested that the Board make available to the <br />Department of Aging the ten acre site on Third Street which lies on the <br />northwest side of Third Street between the railroad right-of-way and the <br />right-of-way of Third Street which is presently a portion of the 0.
