aoc+, 12 pia 667 <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />of <br />THE BOARD OF <br />For <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 1989 <br />The special meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, pursuant to a call issued by the Chairman, <br />convened in the Commissioners' room on the second floor of the County Office <br />Building at 3:00 o'clock P. M. on the 24th of February, 1989, the same being <br />the time, date and place specified in the call. Those present were: <br />Commissioners Albert L. Cox, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., Bertha L. Matthews, <br />William C. Stafford, Jr. and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a <br />quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Albert L. Cox presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Vice-Chairman Gordon A. Wicker. <br />Chairman Cox stated that the purpose of the meeting of the Board <br />was to select and appoint a County Manager. <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. moved that the Board appoint <br />William K. Cowan to be County Manager of Lee County, effective April 1, 1989, <br />and that his appointment be continued under the terms and policies of the <br />-1- <br />
