BOOK V 68S <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford moved that the public hearing be <br />closed. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews and <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the Board of <br />Commissioners adopt without change or amendment and direct the Clerk of <br />the Board of Commissioners to publish as prescribed by The Local <br />Government Bond Act the bond order entitled, "Bond Order Authorizing the <br />Issuance of $610,000 School Bonds of the County of Lee", 'introduced at <br />the meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on March 9, 1989. The <br />motion was seconded by Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker and was adopted by <br />the following vote: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />Mr. Elbert Price, Dean of Administrative Services and Mr. <br />Meigs Golden, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, appeared before the <br />Board on behalf of Central Carolina Community College and requested that <br />the Board of Commissioners employ an architect to provide services <br />through the balance of construction and closeout of the Community <br />Resource Center Project. Mr. Price recommended the firm of Hayes-Howell <br />and Associates who had done the architectural work through working <br />drawings on the project. Mr. Price also requested that the Board of <br />Commissioners appropriate $22,271.00 to Central Carolina Community <br />College in order that the college might complete payment of its <br />architect fees which total $134,771.00. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr.moved that the Board of <br />Commissioners employ the firm of Hayes-Howell and Associates, <br />Architects, to prepare and execute the bid process, supervise <br />construction and perform such other service as may be necessary to close <br />out the Community Resource Center and further that the County Manager be <br />authorized and directed to prepare a budget amendment appropriating <br />$22,271.00 from the revenue received from the occupancy tax to the <br />Central Carolina Community College for use in paying architect's fees on <br />the Community Resource Center. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously <br />adopted. <br />Mr. Don McLaughlin, Director of Parks and Recreation, appeared <br />before the Board of Commissioners and requested that Mr. Dave Groat, an <br />- 3 - <br />
