600K "r;„E ~s <br />The Chairman ruled the amendment had been unanimously adopted. <br />Sheriff Billy Bryant appeared before the Board of <br />Commissioners and requested that moneys be appropriated from the revenue <br />derived from officers' fees to purchase twenty-six bullet proof vests <br />for use by the personnel in his department. After discussion between <br />the Board, the Sheriff and the County Manager, Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the County Manager be authorized and <br />directed,Vto prepare and submit to the Board a budget amendment which <br />will appropriate $8,565.00 from the revenue derived from officers' fees <br />to the Sheriff's Department for the purchase of bullet proof vests for <br />use by personnel in that department. Commissioner William C. Stafford, <br />Jr., seconded the motion and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />adopted. <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously <br />The Chairman called the attention of the members of the Board <br />of Commissioners to the schedule of meetings of the Board of <br />Equalization and Review as provided by the Tax Assessor in the agenda <br />for this meeting. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved the adoption of a <br />resolution authorizing individuals to request funds for Community <br />Development Block Grant No. 87-C-7569, as follows: <br />WHEREAS, Lee County has received a Ccmmunity Development <br />Block Grant; and <br />WHEREAS, the "Requisition for CDBG Funds" form requires the <br />certification by two authorized representatives of the County <br />that the data presented in the requisition is correct, is in <br />accordance with the terms and conditions of the grant and not <br />in excess of current needs; and <br />WHEREAS, Elwin J. Buchanan, who was previously authorized to <br />sign Requisitions for CDBG Funds, has retired and left the <br />employ of Lee County; and <br />WHEREAS, the County must submit a new "Signatory form and <br />Certification" card to the Division of Community Assistance <br />which authorizes up to four persons to sign Requisition for <br />CDBG Funds. <br />- 11 - <br />
