Book 12 >;sr 7:;" <br />6 <br />The reports by San-Lee Humane Society, Veterans Service <br />Officer, Insight Cablevision and Gasoline Consumption, were reviewed. <br />The Board also noted the receipt of minutes from the West <br />Sanford Rural Fire Department and the West Pocket Voluntary Fire <br />Department. <br />Memorandum was received from Mr. Bob Joyce raising the <br />question of a Housing Authority for Lee County. Commissioner Gordon A. <br />Wicker, Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews and County Manager Cowan were <br />asked to look into this matter and report back to the Board. <br />The Chairman reported that Mr. Frank Dilworth had forwarded to <br />him a letter concerning the Youth House and the need for a standard <br />operating procedure, two audits, and a teaching family model program. <br />The letter was referred to the County Manager with the request that he <br />determine the Youth Services Commission's position on the points raised <br />in Mr. Dilworth's letter. <br />The Chairman noted that the Triangle J Council of Government <br />had requested government leaders in the area to contact their <br />legislators to support House Bill #742. <br />The Chairman reported that Mr. James Harrington, Secretary of <br />the Department of Transportation had advised him there would be a <br />meeting on May 11, 1989 on the 8th Division Highway matters. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. advised that the operator <br />of the karate program at the Lee County Arts Council has been directed <br />to provide insurance coverage in connection with his use of space there. <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. moved that the Board go <br />into Executive Session. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted <br />and the Board went into Executive Session. <br />Following the Executive Session at which no formal action was <br />taken, Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the Board close <br />its Executive Session and resume its public session. Commissioner <br />William C.
