The Director of Public Works is authorized to receive on behalf <br />of the Board of Commissioners bids at public auction for the <br />purchase of the described property. <br />3. The public auction shall be held at such time and place as <br />designated by the County Manager in the notice of the public <br />auction. The terms of the sale shall be cash. <br />4. The County Manager shall cause a notice of the public auction to <br />be published in accordance with the requirements of the applicable <br />statutes. <br />5. The Director of Public works is authorized to accept or reject <br />the highest bid at the time received. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The Board next reviewed and discussed the material received <br />from Bunny O'Sullivan on the "Project Graduation" of Lee County. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the concept embraced in the <br />"Project Graduation" be endorsed and approved and that the Chairman be <br />authorized to issue a written proclamation endorsing the program for and <br />on behalf of the Board. Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr., seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />adopted. <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously <br />The Board next reviewed and discussed the material received <br />from the North Carolina Poultry Federation, Inc. that the Board take <br />action to declare April as "Poultry Month". Commissioner Bertha L. <br />Matthews moved that the Chairman be authorized to issue a proclamation <br />declaring April as "Poultry Month" in Lee County. Commissioner Gordon A. <br />Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />- 3 - <br />
