Stafford, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously <br />adopted. <br />County Manager Cowan spoke on House Bill No. 98 presently <br />pending in the General Assembly which provides for a more efficient <br />listing and collection of property taxes on motor vehicles. Tax <br />Collector Nathan Crissman also appeared before the Board and spoke on <br />behalf of this bill and urged the Commissioners to recommend enactment <br />of the bill to the County's representatives in the General Assembly. <br />Mr. Crissman reported that he understood that the resolution must move <br />from one chamber of the General Assembly to the other by May 11, 1989, <br />or it is considered dead for this session. Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the Board take the position endorsing the <br />enactment of House Bill 98 and urging the Senators and Representatives <br />representing Lee County in the General Assembly to urge the enactment of <br />said bill. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously <br />adopted. <br />Assistant County Manager Fields presented for the Board's <br />consideration application for public school building capital fund for <br />the Greenwood Elementary School project. The application had been <br />executed by the Board of Education and it represents a joint request for <br />release of $984,066 from the public school building capital fund. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the Chairman be authorized to <br />execute the application for and on behalf of the County and to authorize <br />submission of the application to the appropriate State office for <br />payment. Commissioner Gordon A.
