Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />results were: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />The proposal of Jambbas Construction Company, Inc. to remove <br />asbestos from the old County home was presented to the Board. The proposal, <br />a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a <br />part hereof, was considered at length and the Board was advised that the <br />asbestos could be disposed of in the County landfill. Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the low bid of Jambbas Construction Company, Inc. <br />be accepted and that the appropriate County official be authorized to execute <br />and deliver the agreement for and on behalf of the County. Commissioner <br />William C. Stafford, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote the results <br />were: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />Mrs. Beatrice Fields, Assistant County Manager, reported to the <br />Board that there were three 10 x 141-2 boxes which contained Lee County <br />Hospital financial records which had been found in the County Office <br />Building. Mrs. Fields stated that the material was of no use, that the <br />records had no historical use and did not pertain to patients but to <br />financial matters. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the <br />County officials be authorized to destroy and dispose of the old records in <br />some appropriate manner. Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mrs. Beatrice Fields, Assistant County Manager, reported that the <br />County was now in compliance to complete the lease purchase of the new <br />computer. She reported that the best bid was from the Southern National <br />Leasing Corporation; that the amount borrowed will be $408,000 for a period <br />of 59 months and the monthly payments will be $8,264.68. Commissioner <br />Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Board adopt the following Resolution: <br />THAT WHEREAS, Lee County, through its duly elected County Manager, with <br />the consent and approval of the Board of Commissioners, has entered into a <br />contract with Southern National Leasing Corporation for the purchase of a <br />Prime Computer; and <br />- 8 - <br />
