oY V P?Gc 751. <br />Mr. W. M. Womble, Sr., appeared before the Board on behalf of the <br />Sanford/Lee County Airport Commission and requested that the Board make <br />available the sum of $7,500 to be matched by the City of Sanford and the two <br />of those to be matched by State funds in order to conduct a study over the <br />feasibility of expanding the airport in its existing site and to determine <br />whether or not a new site should be selected for future operations. The <br />matter was discussed at length following which Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the Board provide the sum of $7,500 for such <br />study. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews and Cox <br />NAY: Stafford and Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a majority vote. <br />Mr. Michael W. Bywater appeared before the Board and explained the <br />NACo Deferred Compensation Plan. Mr. Bywater is State Director for PEBSCO <br />Securities Corporation and administrator of the Deferred Compensation Plan <br />for NACo. <br />The County Attorney presented a License Agreement between the <br />Sanford Housing Authority and Lee County with respect to the space used by <br />the Department of Aging as a nutrition site and related activities at <br />Matthews Court. The agreement' was discussed and reviewed. Commissioner <br />Bertha L. Matthews moved that the license be approved and that the <br />appropriate County officials be authorized to execute and deliver the <br />agreement for and on behalf of the County. Commissioner William C. <br />Stafford, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as <br />follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Tom Harvley-Felder appeared before the Board on behalf of the <br />Lee County Drug Action Committee and requested that the Commissioners <br />designate his association as Lee County Citizens Group to help coordinate <br />substance abuse prevention and intervention. Commissioner William C. <br />Stafford, Jr. moved the adoption of the following Resolution and provided <br />that Mr. Albert L. Cox and Mr. Tom Harvley-Felder may amend the resolution to <br />reflect the need for parental or home guidance and training: <br />WHEREAS, the abuse of alcohol and other drugs is a growing problem in Lee <br />County as elsewhere in the country; and <br />- 4 - <br />
