oox 12 "C. 750 <br />4 <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />The Board next considered the minutes for the May 1st and May 8th <br />meetings. Corrections were made to the draft of the May 1st meeting. After <br />the corrections were made, the Chairman called for further corrections, <br />additions or deletions to the minutes and hearing none, ruled the drafts as <br />corrected were adopted as the official minutes for said meeting and directed <br />that they be recorded. <br />The Board next considered the budget request from Central Carolina <br />Community College. Dr. Marvin Joyner and Mr. Elbert Price were present on <br />behalf of the college. Dr. Joyner reviewed the Budget request. <br />Mr. Ed Fitchett of the firm of Stuart-Fitchett Architects appeared <br />before the Board and presented an amended preliminary draft of the Lee County <br />Jail/Courthouse 50 year building program. Mr. Fitchett explained that the <br />revised draft included the additional space requirements that the Board asked <br />for when he appeared before them on May 1st. Mr. Fitchett recommended that a <br />larger site be obtained for the courthouse/jail project rather than its present <br />location on Horner Boulevard. <br />Mrs. Pamela V. Adams, Executive Director of the Lee County Department <br />of Aging appeared before the Board and reviewed her department's bid proposal <br />which has been submitted to the Triangle J Council of Government for Federal - <br />State funding which would supplement local funds in providing services for that <br />segment of the population of Lee County which is 60 years or more of age. The <br />Board indicated it would wait to receive a recommendation from Commissioner <br />Wicker who is a member of that Board before it took action with respect to the <br />proposal. <br />Dr. William Adams, Chairman of the Lee County Board of Health <br />appeared before the Board and stated that the Board of Health supports the <br />Director's request to reclassify a Health Educator's position to that of a <br />nutritionist. After discussion, Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the <br />Lee County Board of Health Budget be amended to allow a change in the <br />classification of a position from a Health Educator's position to that of a <br />Nutritionist and to allow the use of the funds provided in the budget for the <br />Health Educator's position to pay for the Nutritionist for the rest of the <br />fiscal year. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled that the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />-3- <br />
