eov 12 .re 749 <br />M_ <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted and the <br />public hearing closed. <br />The Chairman called for the pleasure of the Board with respect to <br />the application for the community development block grant. Commissioner <br />Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, citizens of Lee County and the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />recognize Community Revitalization needs in a target area specifically <br />identified as San-Lee Heights IV; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioner has duly advertised and <br />conducted two public hearings in order to receive citizen input regarding <br />the preparation and submission of a Small Cities Community Development <br />Block Grant application as required by North Carolina General Statutes; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners and Citizens of Lee County <br />recognize and agree that said application will complete the comprehensive <br />treatment of Community Revitalization needs in the San-Lee Heights <br />neighborhood; and <br />WHEREAS, authorization has been given by the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners for the preparation of a Small Cities Community Development <br />Block Grant application for Community Revitalization from the North <br />Carolina Natural Resources and Community Development, Division of <br />Community Assistance for the target area identified as San-Lee Heights IV; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, Lee County Board of Commissioners will commit $40,000 in local <br />funds to construct water and sewer line extensions in the target area; and <br />WHEREAS, said the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant <br />application has been prepared and is found to be satisfactory for <br />submission to the North Carolina Natural Resources and Community <br />Development, Department of Community Assistance. <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, The Lee County Board of Commissioners authorizes <br />the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners to execute all documentation <br />required for the submission of said application and authorizes submission <br />of said application to the North Carolina Natural Resources and Community <br />Development, Department of Community Assistance. <br />Commissioner Bertha L.
