BOOK V ari 748 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING of THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS For THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA MONDAY, MAY 15, 1989 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on Monday, May 15, 1989, in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were Commissioners Albert L. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; Bertha L. Matthews; William C. Stafford, Jr.; and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman Albert L. Cox presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by county Attorney K. R. Hoyle. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the Board of Commissioners proceed to hold a public hearing on the County's application for a 1989 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant which would provide community revitalization for San-Lee Heights IV Target Area. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote, the results were as follows: AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox NAY: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted and declared the public hearing was open. The Chairman recognized Mr. Bob Joyce, Economic Developer, who introduced Mr. Skip Greene. Mr. Greene reviewed the application at length and then answered questions from members of the Board of Commissioners. After all persons desiring to speak had been given an opportunity to do so, Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the public hearing be closed. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox NAY: None - 1 -
