BOOK V ari 748 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />of <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />For <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, MAY 15, 1989 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on Monday, May <br />15, 1989, in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County Office <br />Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were <br />Commissioners Albert L. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; Bertha L. Matthews; <br />William C. Stafford, Jr.; and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a <br />quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Albert L. Cox presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The invocation was given by county Attorney K. R. Hoyle. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the Board of <br />Commissioners proceed to hold a public hearing on the County's application <br />for a 1989 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant which would provide <br />community revitalization for San-Lee Heights IV Target Area. Commissioner <br />Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted and <br />declared the public hearing was open. The Chairman recognized Mr. Bob Joyce, <br />Economic Developer, who introduced Mr. Skip Greene. Mr. Greene reviewed the <br />application at length and then answered questions from members of the Board <br />of Commissioners. After all persons desiring to speak had been given an <br />opportunity to do so, Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the public <br />hearing be closed. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />- 1 - <br />
