Stafford, Jr. seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossebach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />upon motion made, seconded and unanimously adopted, it was resolved <br />to recess the meeting until 1:30 P. M. to allow the members to get lunch. <br />The Board reconvened at 1:30 P. M. with all members present. <br />Mr.Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, appeared before the Board and <br />requested the Board take action to approve the proposed amendment to the <br />Subdivision Ordinance. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that Article <br />8, Section H entitled "Water and Sewer Systems" be amended by inserting the <br />following two paragraphs between the caption and Item 1 of said section which <br />paragraphs are as follows: <br />Subdivisions proposed for development in areas which have public <br />water and sewer systems available to it shall be required to be <br />connected to such public water/sewer supply systems where deemed <br />appropriate by the Planning Board. In making such <br />determinations, the Planning Board shall consider the size of the <br />proposed subdivision, including the potential size of the proposed <br />development, the distance from the water or sewer supply system to <br />the nearest point in the subdivision, the cost of alternative <br />water or sewer supply options, and the quality of those <br />alternative water and sewer supply systems. To evaluate <br />alternative systems, the Planning Board shall consider the success <br />or failure of comparable systems used in the area, soil survey <br />information, and recommendations from the local health department. <br />In addition to these requirements, connections shall be subject to <br />the policies of the governing body which owns the water and sewer <br />supply systems. In the case of the Lee County Water System, <br />relevant water policies to include reimbursement policies, shall <br />apply where such connections are required. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the amendment had been unanimously adopted. <br />- 5 - <br />
