BOOK V PASE M~ <br />Chairman Albert L. Cox seconded the motion. When it was reported that the bid <br />on Alternate 2 had been corrected after the opening of all the bids, <br />Commissioner Dossenbach made a substitute motion that all of the bids be <br />rejected and the project be re-bid. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded <br />that motion. In discussion of the substitute motion, the Board was of the <br />opinion there were no irregularities or confusion concerning the base bid and <br />alternate bid 1 and in view of that fact, Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />withdrew his substitute motion. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews consented to <br />the withdrawal of her second and the Chairman ruled the substitute motion had <br />been withdrawn. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker then moved to amend his motion <br />to provide that the low bid of King Roofing for the base bid of $38,560 and <br />Alternate 1 for $10,881 be accepted and the contract be awarded to King Roofing <br />Company. Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. seconded the motion as amended <br />and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the Board proceed to hold <br />a public hearing on the proposed amendments to the Lee County Subdivision <br />Ordinance. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted and the <br />public hearing on the proposed amendments was open. The Chairman recognized <br />Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, who explained the proposed amendment <br />concerning requirements for subdivisions in areas which have public water and <br />sewer systems available to it to be connected to such systems. Following Mr. <br />Barefoot's explanation, interested persons were afforded the opportunity to <br />speak either for or against the proposed amendment. After all persons desiring <br />to be heard had been given an opportunity to speak, Commissioner Bertha L. <br />Matthews moved that the public hearing be closed. Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as <br />follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted and <br />the public hearing closed. <br />Mr. Bobby B.
