a,ppK 12 PAST 764 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />of <br />THE HOARD OF COMISSIONERS <br />for <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, JUNE 5, 1989 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 A. N. on Monday, June 5,1989,in <br />the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 <br />Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners <br />Albert L. Cox, John R.Dossenbach, Jr., Bertha L. Matthews, William C. Stafford, <br />Jr. and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the <br />meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Albert L. Cox presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />The Board considered the minutes for the may 15th meeting. On page 3, <br />fifth paragraph the following was added: "Mr. Fitchett recommended that a <br />larger site be obtained for the courthouse/jail project rather than its present <br />location on Horner Boulevard." On page 9 the spelling of aforesaid was <br />corrected. On page 12 after the word necessary add a comma, delete the word and <br />and add after Manager "and Clerk to the Board of Commissioners." After the <br />additions, corrections and deletions were made, the Chairman ruled the draft as <br />corrected stood approved as the official minutes for said meeting and ordered <br />them recorded. <br />The Board next considered the bids received for roofing repairs at <br />the courthouse. The bids received were as follows: <br />BIDDER <br />BASE BID ALTERNATE 1 ALTERNATE 2 <br />King Roofing $ 38,560 10,881 51,650 <br />John William Brown 43,300 23,700 29,700 <br />The architect reported that King Roofing had stated they made a mistake in the <br />submission of their bid for Alternate 2 and the correct bid should be $23,970. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Board accept the low bid of King <br />Roofing in the amount of $38,560 and alternate 2 in the amount of $23,970. <br />- 1 - <br />
