The County manager asked the direction of the Board as to whether or <br />not they wished to replace the unit. The Board advised the County Manager they <br />did not intend to provide an air-conditioning unit; however, they would give <br />authority for the tenant to install a unit provided it does not show or detract <br />from the appearance of the building. <br />County Manager Cowan reported on prices he had obtained in order to <br />place bronze aluminum doors at the entrance of the old hospital building and <br />the cost for fencing. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the County <br />manager be authorized to proceed to take bids for the purchase and installation <br />of bronze aluminum doors at the hospital building. Commissioner Bertha L. <br />Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. The <br />County Manager was instructed to see if there was surplus fencing available <br />which could be relocated and placed on the old hospital grounds. <br />Mr. Roger E. Sheats, Jr. appeared before the board on behalf of the <br />Mid-Carolina Council of Governments with respect to the installation of a <br />Certified Development Company to serve Chatham, Cumberland, Harnett, Lee and <br />Sampson Counties. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the Board go into <br />executive session to consider appointments to County boards and agencies. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote the results <br />were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled that the resolution had been adopted and the board <br />was in executive session. <br />Following the consideration of the appointments in executive session, <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the executive session be closed <br />and the board resume its public session. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted and <br />the board was again in public session. <br />- 2 - <br />
