A public hearing on this change in the election structure shall <br />be held on Monday, June 26, 1989, at 7:30 p. m. at the Board of Commissioners' <br />meeting room on the second floor of the County Office Building in Sanford. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Cox <br />NAY: Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been adopted by a majority <br />vote. <br />The Board authorized an advertisement to be published in the local <br />paper on June 14 and June 21, 1989, and a public hearing be held on June 26, <br />1989, at 7:30 P. M.in the Commissioners' room in the County Office Building. <br />County Manager William K. Cowan brought to the Board's attention a <br />tour sponsored by American Refuse Systems, Inc. to visit Solid Waste <br />Convenience Centers in Wayne and Pitt Counties on June 21, 1989. All <br />commissioners were invited to join the tour. <br />Mr. Bob Joyce, Economic Development Coordinator appeared before <br />the Board to announce that Lee County had been selected one of four counties <br />chosen for a wastewater needs assessment program. The specific service <br />available free of charge will include the following: <br />Analysis of wastewater problems facing the County, including <br />adequacy of treatment and number of people served; examination of available <br />financial and technical resources for addressing identified problems; <br />assistance in planning for wastewater needs resolution. Commissioner <br />William C. Stafford, Jr. moved that the Board accept the North Carolina Rural <br />Counties Assistance Project. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />The Board next considered the rate for reimbursement for travel to <br />be established in the budget ordinance for the fiscal year 1989-90. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the mileage rate be set at 24C <br />per mile for any travel directly associated with official County business. <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />results were: <br />- 3 - <br />
