BOOK V P,r,,r 799 <br />Sanford's Law and Finance Committee had recommended that the City's <br />contribution for animal control be reinstated with the proviso that two dog <br />wardens be assigned to the City of Sanford area. The Commissioners reported <br />that a good and cooperative spirit was evidenced by the City officials. <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. moved that the proposed budget for the <br />coming fiscal year be amended to provide for a total of two animal control <br />officers for service in Lee County. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the amendment to the budget had passed by a <br />unanimous vote. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the proposed budget <br />for the coming year be amended to include $10,000 for the use and purposes of <br />Triangle South, Inc. Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the budget amendment had unanimously passed. <br />County Manager Cowan presented estimates received from the <br />Department of Transportation for paving at the Kiwanis Park and the Mental <br />Health Clinic. Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. moved that the County <br />Manager prepare a Budget Ordinance for adoption based on changes as approved <br />by the Board. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />County Manager Cowan reported on the status of the phone system for <br />the new office building at the intersection of Hillcrest and Carthage <br />Streets. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the Board go into <br />executive session. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />-10- <br />
