='TM 12 Paz 790 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />of <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />for <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />U <br />MONDAY, JUNE 19, 1989 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 P. M. on Monday, June 19, <br />1989, in the Commissioners, Room on the second floor of the County Office <br />Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: <br />Commissioners Albert L. Cox, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., Bertha L. Matthews, <br />William C. Stafford, Jr. and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a <br />quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Albert L. Cox presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The invocation was given by county Attorney K. R. Hoyle. <br />The drafts of the minutes for the June 5th, June 6th and June 12th, <br />1989 meetings were considered. The minutes for the regular meeting June 5, <br />1989 were amended to reflect directions to the County Manager to obtain <br />estimates from the Department of Transportation for paving at Kiwanis Park <br />and the Mental Health Clinic, and in the third paragraph of page 11 County <br />manager was changed to read "Chairman". After the addition and correction <br />was made, Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the drafts of the <br />minutes be adopted as the official minutes for said meetings and that they be <br />recorded. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />The Board next considered choosing a name for the youth shelter, <br />and the Chairman recognized Mrs. Mary Oates, the Chairman of the Youth <br />Commission for their recommendation. Mrs. Oates advised the Board that the <br />Youth Commission would like for the shelter to be known as "Hillcrest". The <br />Chairman noted that he thought it should have the full name of "Hillcrest <br />Youth Home". Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the facility formerly <br />known as the nurses home be renamed as the "Hillcrest Youth Home". <br />- 1 - <br />
