a~bx , 12 p F 827 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />of <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />For <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, JULY 10, 1989 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 o'clock A. M. on Monday, July <br />10, 1989, in the Commissioners' room on the second floor of the County Office <br />Building, 200 Wicker street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: <br />Commissioners Albert L. Cox, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., William C. Stafford, <br />Jr. and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews was absent when <br />the meeting opened but joined the meeting shortly thereafter. Chairman Cox <br />declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of <br />business. <br />Chairman Albert L. Cox presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />The Chairman recognized Mr. Don McLaughlin, Director of the Parks & <br />Recreation Department, and he and Mr. Charles Ingram, the Chairman of the <br />Parks & Recreation Commission, recognized the following persons and <br />organizations as recipients of the Commission's annual voluntary service <br />awards for 1989: <br />Corporate Donor of the Year: First Citizens Bank & Trust Company - accepting <br />Mr. Tom Rouse <br />Civic Club of the year: Women's Uplift Club- accepting Geraldine Seymour <br />Sanford Jaycees - accepting Rick Guerrero <br />Sports Volunteer of the Year - Tommy Womack <br />Non-Sports Volunteer of the year - Clarence Mace <br />Sponsor of the Year - Mr. Gatti's Pizza - accepting Rich Habeeb <br />Distinguished Citizen of the year - Mr. Howard Bokhoven <br />- 1 - <br />NORTH CAROLINA, LEE COUMiy <br />of 2=7!. <br />rec0rdedin6Wk f L <br />Nellie W Thom s, Regisw of Deeda <br />
