W 0 <br />eav 12 F~,S 846 <br />Mr. John Hall, Chairman of the Agricultural Extension Service, <br />appeared before the Board and requested authority that the County be <br />authorized to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the North Carolina <br />Agricultural Extension Service. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that <br />the appropriate County officers be authorized and directed to execute a <br />Memorandum of understanding between the North Carolina Agricultural <br />Extension Service and Lee County. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. John Hall, Agricultural Extension Service Chairman, appeared <br />before the Board and presented Ms. Mildred Smith, a candidate for the 4-H <br />Agent position in Lee County. Mr. Hall recommended that she be employed <br />and requested the Board to give its approval for such employment. <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. moved that the Board approve the <br />employment of Ms. Mildred Smith for the 4-H position in Lee County. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />The request by Trion to accept an amended tax listing for Trion's <br />1988 personal property was brought up for consideration. Tax Assessor <br />Crissman recommended that he be allowed to use the six year life for <br />computer equipment in 1988 because it was listed separate from other <br />equipment, and that a release be authorized for $18,600 for paving for the <br />parking lot because it seems to be listed both as real property and as <br />personal property. Mr. Crissman did not recommend any other changes. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the Tax Assessor be <br />authorized to use the six year life for computers for 1989 and that the <br />release be authorized for the amount of $18,600 for the double listing of <br />the paving improvements and that the other request be denied. Commissioner <br />Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as <br />follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />-7- <br />
