e°oK 12 874 <br />The Board next considered the draft of the minutes of the regular <br />meeting held on Monday, August 7, 1989. Corrections were made to the <br />draft and following such corrections, Chairman Cox declared the minutes <br />approved as corrected and directed that they be recorded as the official <br />minutes of said meeting. <br />Mr. Richard Hager, Attorney at Law, appeared before the Board on <br />behalf of Paul K. Craig, Inc., and requested that the Board in its <br />discretion to resell its property, being Parcels #9614-54-8739 located on <br />Tempting Church Road, and Parcel #9605-61-6800 located on the North Plank <br />Road in Pocket Township for an amount not less than the taxing unit's <br />interest therein, and to allow the company to redeem its property in this <br />manner as permitted by North Carolina General Statute 105-376. Mr. Hager <br />made no contention that the Taxing Department had not followed the strict <br />letter of the law and asked only that they be allowed to redeem the <br />property and pay the tax and expense incurred by the County. The matter <br />was discussed at length. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the <br />Board exercise its discretion and pursuant to the authority contained in <br />the statute resell such property to the former owner for the amount the <br />County has in said propertyu and provided that the funds are paid by <br />Thursday, August 24, 1989. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />Ms. Donnie Cox appeared before the Board on behalf of Mr. Nathan <br />Crissman, Tax Administrator, and requested authority to docket judgments <br />for unpaid 1988 real estate taxes in accordance with a list presented to <br />the Board. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the Tax <br />Administrator be authorized and empoweresd to docket judgments for all 1988 <br />unpaid real estate taxes. Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the tax books for the <br />fiscal year beginning July 1, 1989, be delivered to the Tax Collector and <br />that the Board issue the Order of Collection as follows: <br />-22- <br />
