pox V 94 <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote the resultwere as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox. <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The County Manager advised that he had set up a meeting <br />with the Harnett County Board and the local legislative <br />delegation for October 30, 1989 at 6:30 P.M. to discuss the <br />Solid Waste Bill. He will advise the Board at a later date as <br />to the location of the meeting. He also set up a meeting with <br />the Board of Health for November 14, 1989 at 7:00 P.M. This <br />meeting will be held in the Commissioners Room of the County <br />Office Building. <br />Commissioner Matthews advised that the Board's second <br />meeting in November falls on November 20th which is the same day <br />as the Farm City Week banquet. In the past the Board delayed <br />the meeting until 7:30 P.M. so the Commissioners could attend <br />this banquet. The Board authorized the County Manager to <br />advertise the change of time for the November 20th meeting from <br />7:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. <br />The Chairman recognized Mr. Bob Joyce who reported that he <br />had discussed with Mr. Hoyle, per the Board's instructions, his <br />listing the Woodland Avenue property. The County Attorney <br />advised that the best way of disposing of the property would be <br />by sealed bids. Mr. Joyce recommended that the 2.74 acres <br />which consist of the Woodland Avenue, the Evergreen Street and <br />Martin Street properties be advertised for sale by sealed bids. <br />The bids would be opened on January 15, 1990 and then lay open <br />for ten days to allow for an upset. Commissioner Stafford moved <br />to accept Mr. Joyce's recommendation. Commissioner Dossenbach <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox. <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />Commissioner Stafford advised that the Solid Waste <br />committee is requesting to hold a public hearing to inform the <br />public on new legislative acts that counties must comply with by <br />1991. The committee would like Mr. Gordon Layton of Raleigh, <br />who was involved in writing this legislation, to be present at <br />the meeting to explain the law to the public. The time of the <br />meeting has not yet been determined, but they wanted Board <br />approval tonight and then see what Mr. Layton's schedule would <br />permit. They would like to hold the meeting at the Courthouse. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve the scheduling of <br />a public hearing by the Solid Waste Committee. Commissioner <br />6 <br />
