Commissioner Matthews seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />Nay: None <br />Nay: None <br />AyeThe: Chairman Matthew::., ruled the Stafford, resolution Wicker on and Cox <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />Chairman Cox presented the Proclamation to Mr. Don <br />Whiteman, Chairman for Farm-City Week. Mr. Whiteman stated he <br />appreciated the proclamation and thanked the Board for their <br />time. He advised this is a special year for Farm-City week <br />because Kiwanis International (who sponsors this event) is <br />celebrating their 75th anniversary. <br />Chairman Cox then read a Proclamation proclaiming the <br />observation of Veterans Day in Lee County and encouraging <br />citizens to join in expressing appreciation to all veterans. <br />Commissioner Wicker moved for approval of the <br />proclamation. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board next considered the draft of the minutes of the <br />regular meeting held on Monday, October 16, 1989 and the <br />Special Meeting held on October 30, 1989. Commissioner <br />Stafford asked that the minutes of the meeting of October 30th <br />be amended to reflect we would communicate our progress in the <br />area of solid waste through the County Manager. After that <br />addition was made, Chairman Cox declared the minutes approved <br />as amended and directed that they be recorded as the official <br />minutes of said meetings. The Chairman asked that a copy of <br />the minutes of October 30th be sent to Harnett County. <br />The Chairman then advised that he would deviate from the <br />agenda to discuss a few items. He distributed copies of a <br />letter from Mr. Larry Varner, P.E., Floyd Browne & Associates, <br />providing a status report of the construction of the Lee County <br />Water Treatment Plant. <br />The Chairman then reported that the recreation committee <br />approved the signage for names of donors at Kiwanis Park. <br />4 <br />
