Tai & Associates for Soils and Foundation <br />Field Testing $5,000 <br />2. Patterson Exploration Services for: <br />a. Asphaltic Concrete Pavement Layer <br />Testing $1,170 <br />b. Portland Cement Concrete <br />Sampling and Testing $2,676 <br />C. Testing of Structural Steel <br />Connections $1,680 <br />TOTAL <br />$5,526 <br />$10,526 <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved for approval of the <br />agreement. Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board then reviewed the proposed design for the sign to <br />be constructed at Kiwanis Park recognizing the recent <br />contribution made by Mr. Charles Reeves. The Board approved the <br />design as submitted by the Parks & Recreation Director. <br />The County Manager advised that Mr. Patterson of Carolina <br />Interconnect called and asked what the County's plans were <br />regarding the old PBX at the former County Hospital Building. <br />The County Manager recommended the Board authorize the sale of <br />this equipment. The County Attorney advised that counties adopt <br />the cities statutes concerning disposal of property by private <br />sale. Chapter 160 states when the Council proposes to dispose <br />of property by private sale it shall at a regular council <br />meeting adopt a resolution of order authorizing the appropriate <br />city official to dispose of the property by private sale at a <br />negotiated price. The resolution shall identify the property to <br />be sold and may, but need not specify a minimum price. A notice <br />summarizing the contents of the resolution or order shall be <br />published once after its adoption and no sale shall be <br />consummated thereunder until 10 days after its publication. <br />Commissioner Stafford moved for adoption of the following <br />resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee <br />desires to dispose of certain surplus property of the County; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of <br />7 <br />
