tong 12 992 <br />for Lake Villanow division, Phase I. Mr. LL6nard Barefoot, <br />County Planner was recognized and advised that he had received a <br />request from Mr. Rex Brown, President of White Hill Development <br />Corporation requesting a 60 day extension on a Letter of Credit <br />issued by Mid-South Bank and Trust Company. This was issued to <br />guarantee street improvements for a short section of street <br />being constructed in connection with the development of Lake <br />Villanow Subdivision, Section I. The developer has been working <br />for several weeks preparing to submit the final drawings for <br />Section II of the subdivision and plans to do so In December or <br />January. At that time a new letter of credit will be issued to <br />cover all the improvements of Section II and this short section <br />of street. Mr. Brown's request is that we accept a letter of <br />extension from Mid-South Bank in the amount of $6,000.00 until <br />the new letter of credit can be calculated and issued. Mr. <br />Barefoot recommended extension of the Letter of Credit. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved for an extension of 60 days. <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board next considered the Tax Releases/Refunds for the <br />month of October, 1989. The October report is attached to these <br />minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Commissioner <br />Dossenbach moved that the releases and refunds set out in the <br />report be authorized and approved. Commissioner Wicker seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman departed from the agenda and referred to Page <br />58 of the Agenda Package - Quarterly Report for the Maintenance <br />Department. The report stated that the building on Hillcrest <br />still has problems that need to be corrected by the General <br />Contractor and Bolton. The County Manager advised this has been <br />taken care of. <br />The County Manager referred to a letter inviting the <br />Commissioners to attend a brief Elected Officials Meeting on the <br />widening of US-1 Lakeview to Sanford at 3:00 P.M. on November 28 <br />at Cameron Elementary School. <br />Commissioner Stafford advised that the date of the Public <br />Hearing on Solid Waste has been changed due to a conflict at the <br />courthouse. The Public Hearing is to be held on Thursday, <br />December 7, 1989 at 7:30 P.M. at the courthouse. <br />The Board then observed a five minute recess.
