Mr. Hoyle <br />advised you have to apply to the federal government and make <br />application to see if they would release this from the <br />provisions of the Land and Water Conservation Fund. What Mr. <br />McLaughlin is saying is that we really don't have any basis to <br />ask them to do this and we could loose some of our grant money <br />coming to the Recreation Department. <br />The Board discussed the possibility <br />to either the Social Services Building o <br />discussed, was deeding the property back <br />Commissioners Matthews, Stafford and the <br />asked to study this and come back with a <br />next meeting. <br />of moving the facility <br />r the Art Center. Copy is attached to these <br />Minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Following the <br />explanation, Commissioner Matthews moved the budget amendment be <br />adopted. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Stafford and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The County Manager reported that he, Mr. Joyce and Mr. <br />Wicker toured the new water plant last week. Mr. Varner asked <br />him to extend an invitation to the other Board members to visit <br />the plant. Commissioner Cox reported that he previously toured <br />the plant. Commissioners Dossenbach, Matthews and Stafford <br />asked the County Manager to set up a tour with Mr. Varner for <br />Thursday at 4:00 P.M. An invitation was also extended to the <br />news media. <br />The Board next considered Item #8 of the agenda, Consider <br />repairs and renovations to the Wilrik Building. The County <br />Manager reported at the last meeting the Board asked him to <br />discuss the Board of Education's long range plans for office <br />facilities for the Administrative Staff of the Lee County <br />Schools. Mr. Donny Hunter, Superintendent, asked for some time <br />to review this with the Board of Education at their next meeting <br />on December 11. Manager Cowan advised that he was also asked to <br />discuss this with the County Attorney to determine condominium <br />rights for the building. <br />The County Attorney reported that the Wilkins Corporation <br />made this a condominium unit in December of 1967. The <br />declaration was amended in 1968, but the amendment only related <br />to the percentages of ownership of common areas. In December of <br />1967 they deeded to the County Unit 3, which was the mezzanine <br />5 <br />
