h 13 <br />1 <br />MIND ES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />j <br />Monday, December 4, 1989 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A.M. <br />on Monday, December 4, 1989, in the Commissioners' room on the <br />second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, <br />Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners <br />Albert L. Cox, John R. Dossenbach, Jr. Bertha L. Matthews, <br />William C. Stafford, Jr. and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Cox <br />declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the <br />transaction of business. <br />Chairman Albert L. Cox presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by County Attorney, K. R. Hoyle. <br />The Board considered the draft of the minutes of the <br />special meeting held on Tuesday, November 14, 1989 and the <br />regular Meeting held on Monday, November 20, 1989. The minutes <br />for the regular meeting November 20, 1989 were amended to state <br />Commissioner Stafford's opposition to the rules set for the <br />Public Hearing to be held on December 18, 1989. After that <br />addition was made, Chairman Cox declared the minutes <br />approved as amended and directed that they be recorded as the <br />official minutes of said meetings. <br />The Chairman announced the next order of business was the <br />election of a Chairman. The County Attorney distributed ballots <br />and after they were marked and signed, when counted the results <br />were as follows: <br />COMMISSIONER <br />Cox <br />Dossenbach <br />Matthews <br />Stafford <br />Wicker <br />VOTED FOR <br />Wicker <br />Dossenbach <br />Dossenbach <br />Wicker <br />Wicker <br />The County Attorney announced that Commissioner Gordon A. <br />Wicker had received a majority of the votes and had been elected <br />Chairman. Commissioners Cox and"Wicker changed seats and <br />Commissioner Wicker then presided over the further deliberations <br />of the Board. <br />1 <br />
