h 13 1 MIND ES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA j Monday, December 4, 1989 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, December 4, 1989, in the Commissioners' room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, John R. Dossenbach, Jr. Bertha L. Matthews, William C. Stafford, Jr. and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Cox declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman Albert L. Cox presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by County Attorney, K. R. Hoyle. The Board considered the draft of the minutes of the special meeting held on Tuesday, November 14, 1989 and the regular Meeting held on Monday, November 20, 1989. The minutes for the regular meeting November 20, 1989 were amended to state Commissioner Stafford's opposition to the rules set for the Public Hearing to be held on December 18, 1989. After that addition was made, Chairman Cox declared the minutes approved as amended and directed that they be recorded as the official minutes of said meetings. The Chairman announced the next order of business was the election of a Chairman. The County Attorney distributed ballots and after they were marked and signed, when counted the results were as follows: COMMISSIONER Cox Dossenbach Matthews Stafford Wicker VOTED FOR Wicker Dossenbach Dossenbach Wicker Wicker The County Attorney announced that Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker had received a majority of the votes and had been elected Chairman. Commissioners Cox and"Wicker changed seats and Commissioner Wicker then presided over the further deliberations of the Board. 1
