Campbell, Jr. <br />Mr. Harvey Forbes <br />The following people signed up, but were not present <br />at the meeting. <br />Mr. Albert C. Adcock <br />Mr. Ed Bullard <br />Mr. Ron Perkinson <br />Mr. Clinton Pickard <br />Mr. Clifton Paul Thomas <br />Mr. William Wilson, III <br />Mr. Hoyle advised that concluded the list of people who had <br />signed up to speak. He then read letters from Mr. Clinton C. <br />Pickard and Mr. Obie Watson in support of the Colon Road site. <br />Copies attached to these minutes and by this reference made a <br />part hereof. <br />The Chairman then asked for comments from the Board. <br />Commissioner Matthews thanked everyone for attending. She <br />advised she was the fifth person when the vote was 4 to 1. She <br />read from the initial statement she made at that time. "I <br />support a plan which will construct a new jail on the existing <br />site and a short and long range plan which will meet the needs <br />of our courthouse facility. The selection of a new site and the <br />building of a new facility will result in continued expenses for <br />maintenance and repairs at the existing courthouse which <br />citizens will most likely want to keep." She concluded that she <br />still feels strongly that we need to stay at the present site. <br />Commissioner Stafford also thanked everyone for coming <br />tonight and expressing their opinion openly and honestly. He <br />advised he was one of the four who did support going to the <br />2 <br />
