B. <br />_ Information <br />Meeting Date: September 15, 2008 XX Action Item <br />- Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: Oil and Hazardous Substance Ordinance for Lee County <br />DEPARTMENT: Emergency Management <br />CONTACT PERSON: Eric Griffin, Emergency Management Director <br />REQUEST: Adopt Oil and Hazardous Substance Ordinance for Lee County <br />® SUMMARY: The Emergency Management Director is requesting the Board <br />adopt an Oil and Hazardous Substance Ordinance for Lee County <br />to provide the legal authority for the County to enforce cleanup of <br />uncontained or unsecured oil and other hazardous materials. This <br />will also provide for the County to bill responsible parties for the <br />clean-up expenses incurred when the County must assume <br />responsibility for cleanup and disposal of unsecured materials. <br />This ordinance was developed through the assistance of the County <br />Attorney and comprises of elements of the County ordinance from <br />Orange County and Federal law. <br />BUDGET IMPACT: N/A <br />ATTACHMENT(S): Proposed Ordinance <br />PUBLIC HEARING: No <br />PRIOR BOARD ACTION: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the Emergency Management Ordinance for Lee County as <br />presented. <br />F j <br />
