The motion failed with a tie vote <br />(Chairman Brown was unable to attend the meeting). According to <br />Roberts Rules of Order "on a tie vote, a motion requiring a majority <br />vote for adoption is lost, since a tie is not a majority". <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle has drafted a "revised" Ordinance for <br />consideration. <br />If the Board approves the Smoking Ordinance, a resolution asking <br />the City of Sanford and Town of Broadway to permit the Smoking <br />Ordinance to be applicable within their jurisdictions will need to be <br />adopted. <br />BUDGET IMPACT: N/A <br />ATTACHMENT(S): (1) September 2, 2008 memo from County Attorney K.
