045 <br />S available budget. This process involved a reduction in size of the classroom building and <br />the use of cheaper building materials. The re-design fee was and additional $ 35,000. <br />Another unexpected and unbudgeted expense occurred in 2005 when soil testing <br />showed that the soil at the building site was not sufficiently compacted to support the <br />planned structures. The airport site was created largely by dumping fill dirt on low-lying <br />property. The engineering solution was to "pre-load" the building sites with 5,900 cubic <br />yards of dirt to achieve the compaction necessary. This solution cost $ 137,000. <br />In summary, the CCCC Emergency Services Training Center project is over <br />budget by $ 92,173 for the low bid taken on June 20, 2007 due to the following <br />unanticipated expenditures. <br />$ 100,000 Sewer Line Extension (June 2005) <br />$ 137,000 Soil Compaction (May 2005) <br />$ 35,000 Design Fees for Lee Co.
