041
LEE COUNTY
I k
Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow
LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
ITEM ABSTRACT ITEM NO. III. H.
_ Information
Meeting Date: September 15, 2008 Action Item
Consent Agenda
SUBJECT: Construction Project at the Emergency Services Training Center -
CCCC
DEPARTMENT: Administration/Finance
CONTACT PERSON: John Crumpton
® REQUEST: CCCC has requested the use of the project contingency fund to
cover unexpected costs on the Emergency Services Training Center
at the old Sanford/Lee County Airport.
SUMMARY: The project at the old Airport is nearing completion. To complete
the project the College is asking the County to release $68,500 in
contingency funds for the project so they can cover unanticipated
costs in the actual construction phase. They are asking for the
release of the entire amount.
BUDGET IMPACT: This project is being paid for out of the 2004 COPS proceeds and
needs to be closed out so the County does not incur additional
penalties due to holding the loan proceeds for too long. Since the
funds are already in the capital project fund, there is no impact on
the counties operating budget.
ATTACHMENT(S): Letter from the Community College asking that we release the
funds.
PUBLIC HEARING: No
PRIOR BOARD ACTION: N/A
0 RECOMMENDATION: Approve CCCC's request to use contingency funds to complete
project.
