Additionally, Level I and II group homes <br />would continue to be permitted by right (staff approval) in the NC, O-I, C-1, C-2 and <br />HC districts. <br />• Level III and IV group homes (most intense) would no longer be permitted in any <br />residential zoning district (including NW-12). Additionally, Level III and IV group <br />homes would be permitted in NC, 0-1, C-I, C-2 and I-IC districts only with the <br />issuance of a Special Use Permit (as reviewed and granted by the Board of <br />Adjustment). <br />Attached to this memo is a (1) handout from a Durham mental health agency that provides a <br />good overview of the characteristics for a Level 11, 111 and IV group home and (2) a sheet the <br />• provides an overview of the current UDO rules as well as the proposed changes. <br />
