Minter, Finance Director <br />REQUEST: Approval of Budget Amendment #08/18/08/03 <br />SUMMARY: Budget Amendment #08118/08/03 appropriates funds for the following <br />departments: <br />Health - WIC - Additional funds in the amount of $10,791 have been <br />appropriated to the WIC program due to a per participant rate increases. <br />No County funds are allocated to the WIC program. <br />Emergency Services - Emergency Services is receiving additional grant <br />funding of $51,084 through Homeland Security. The grants require no <br />matching dollars. Funds will be used to conduct an exercise, hazard <br />training and NIMS training. The department is also receiving an additional <br />appropriation of $9,028 from North Carolina Division of Emergency <br />Management. <br />EDC - The EDC budget is being increased by $566 to cover the 4.4% <br />COLA. Their budget originally covered only a 4% increase.
