E. <br />_ Information <br />Meeting Date: August 18, 2008 _Action Item <br />5 Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: Work First County Designation <br />DEPARTMENT: Department of Social Services <br />CONTACT PERSON: Brenda Potts <br />REQUEST: Accept the Social Service Board's recommendation that Lee <br />County remain a Standard Work First County and accept <br />recommendation of the Work First Planning Committee. <br />SUMMARY: Since implementation of the North Carolina Work First <br />Program, Lee County has been operating as a Standard <br />Work First county. This designation was initially voted on by <br />the Board of Commissioners over a decade ago and that <br />designation has been the continued vote biennially.
