13 fn i~ 26 <br />to then deed the property to Mr. Thornton as wk's agreed upon in <br />1981. <br />Mr. Nathan Crissman, Tax Administrator was recognized and <br />explained the County purchased the property in question at a <br />foreclosure sale in 1984 for $132.93. The taxes for the ensuing <br />years amount to $39.00. The cost associated with the auction is <br />$100.00, based on the auctioneer's belief that he could have <br />sold the property for at least $1,000 or more. This would bring <br />the total cost to $271.93. Mr. Crissman advised he thought this <br />would be fair to the County, the auctioneer, and the purchaser <br />of the property. <br />Commissioner Cox moved that the Board accept Mr. <br />Crissman's recommendation. Commissioner Matthews seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board next considered an appointment to the Board of <br />Health to replace Ms. Elaine Matthews, the Registered Nurse on <br />the Board, who is moving from Lee County. <br />Commissioner Stafford advised that the Board of Health had <br />accepted Ms. Matthews' resignation at their last meeting. He <br />asked that a Certificate of Appreciation be sent to Ms. Matthews <br />for her service on the Board. Commissioner Stafford moved to <br />appoint Ms. Peggy Cashion, a registered nurse and resident of <br />Sanford, to replace Ms. Matthews. Commissioner Cox informed the <br />Board that he had talked to Ms. Gloria Peele, a registered nurse <br />and resident of Sanford, about the opening on the Health Board. <br />After discussion, the Chairman asked the County Attorney to <br />distribute ballots and after they were marked, when counted the <br />results were as follows: <br />VOTED FOR <br />Cox <br />Ms. <br />Peele <br />Dossenbach <br />Ms. <br />Cashion <br />Matthews <br />Ms. <br />Cashion <br />Stafford <br />Ms. <br />Cashion <br />Wicker <br />Ms. <br />Cashion <br />The County Attorney announced that Ms. Cashion had received <br />a majority of the votes and had been appointed to the Board of <br />Health. <br />The Board then considered a request for a $100 contribution <br />for a life-time membership on the Railroad House Historical <br />Association.
